The Morning After The Before

In the gentle embrace of morning's golden rays, around 6:30 or so, I savored the velvety notes of a caramel latte, caressing my senses at the coffee shop. And then, like an ethereal apparition, she graced the threshold. Cloaked in a flowing white gown, her stride a symphony of elegance, she adorned her feet with red and white sneakers, a vibrant accent to her attire.

A silver hoop earring gleamed modestly upon her right ear, while two intricately crafted gold rings adorned her right index finger, each bearing its own unique charm. Every detail harmonized flawlessly, her bobbed silver hair a mesmerizing frame, as if conjured for a captivating photoshoot. The moment she entered, the very air transformed, as if surrendering to her enchanting presence.

Perched on the edge of the bar, I watched, transfixed, as she gracefully approached, finding solace next to me. A wisp of smoke curled from her parted lips as she kindled a cigarette, casting a beguiling aura. A smile danced upon my lips, curious if she could recall our shared memories.

She paused, savoring the stillness, before indulging in a sip of Irish coffee, her lips caressing the rim before setting the cup gently upon the table. "Well?" I inquired, my voice carrying a hint of anticipation. "Well?" she echoed, a knowing twinkle in her eyes. And then, with a surge of determination, I whispered, "I've been pondering. This evening, I shall journey to your embrace."
